Herod and us: the fly in the Christmas ointment — 2 Comments

  1. The wise men deserve a lot of credit here in obeying the warning from God instead of returning to tell Herod where they had found Jesus. They could have easily been enticed by Herod’s power and kingship (what he could have rewarded them with). Instead, they chose to obey God rather than man. The delay they created allowed Joseph, Mary and Jesus to escape.

    • Yes indeed. We need to pay as careful attention to “minor” characters who figure in only one or two stories as to major figures like Moses or Paul. God told us about them so we could learn from them. Thanks for commenting.
